Gregory S. Phillips

GREGORY S. PHILLIPS, A.A.E., MBA

Director of Aviation

Greg Phillips is the Director of Aviation for the Colorado Springs Airport. He is an instrument rated commercial pilot, holds an engineering degree from West Point, an advanced degree program in Organizational Development, and an MBA from the University of Denver.

Following military service, Greg worked as a project manager for Boeing and the FAA, serving as Deputy Program Manager during the construction of the Denver International Airport. He has filled executive positions at five airports, starting with the Bend Municipal Airport in Oregon, where he was named Oregon Airport Manager of the Year. He was Deputy Director at the Missoula International Airport, Director of the Pangborn Memorial Airport in central Washington and the Vail/Eagle County Airport Executive Director before assuming his current role in January, 2017.

In 2019, COS was recognized as Colorado Airport of the Year by the Colorado DOT. COS was the 2020 recipient of the Economic Development Council of Colorado’s award for economic partnerships, the 2020 national brand identity marketing awardee from the Airports Council International, and the 2021 Balchen/Post national awardee from the American Association of Airport Executives for their snow removal program, as well as numerous awards for their construction projects. COS was honored in 2021 by The Gazette as one of Colorado Springs’ Best Workplaces.

Greg serves on the National Board of Directors for the American Association of Airport Executives (AAAE), Past President of the Northwest Chapter Board of Directors for AAAE and currently serves on a number of national aviation committees. He serves as a member of the VisitCOS Board of Directors, the Colorado Springs Chamber Board of Governors, the city’s Economic Development Advisory Council, the Colorado Springs Police Foundation Board and is an Honorary Commander at the United States Air Force Academy. Greg is an Accredited Airport Executive, a member of the Order of Daedalians, a Senior Fellow in the Council for Excellence in Government, and serves on CU Boulder’s Customer Experience Advisory Committee. He is an active member of the Colorado Airport Operators’ Association. In 2020, Greg was personally recognized as the Airport Executive of the Year by the NW Chapter of AAAE.

Troy Stover

Assistant Director of Aviation for Economic Development​

Troy Stover has been at the Colorado Springs Airport since March 2005 where he started as the Facilities Maintenance Manager. He was promoted to the Operations Manager position in October 2007, and since 2013 has held the position of Assistant Director over Administration and Finance. Before working at the Colorado Springs Airport, Troy managed the Jefferson County Airport (now known as Rocky Mountain Metro). He began working there after high school, and worked as a Maintenance Tech/Aircraft Rescue Fire Fighter (ARFF) while he earned his Bachelor’s degree in Aviation Management from Metro State College. After receiving his Bachelor degree, Troy also served as a Board Member and President of the Colorado Airport Operator’s Association (CAOA) for 10 years and remains an active member in the State Aviation Community.

Brett Miller

Assistant Director of Aviation of Operations

Brett has a vast knowledge of aviation as he has served many functions over the past 23 years in the aviation industry, working in both general aviation and commercial airports.  As the Assistant Director of Aviation, Brett has a complete understanding of Airfield design, FAA regulations and community relations and has been able to bring all three of those functions together in order to operate a safe and efficient airport.  Brett is certified by the American Association of Airport Executives as an Airport Certified Employee, (Operations).  

Aidan L. Ryan

Marketing & Communications Manager  

Aidan Ryan has served as the Marketing and Communications Manager for the Colorado Springs Airport since December, 2017. In this role, she manages all aspects of the Airport's marketing and internal advertising program, PR/media relations, communication programs including website and social media channels, Premier Lounge, corporate outreach, and customer service programs including the volunteer Ambassadors and PAWS4COS. Aidan also serves as the Airport's 24/7 PIO media contact. 

  • May 2018: The Colorado Springs Marketing and Communications Team was recognized by the Pikes Peak Chapter of the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) for extraordinary public relations performance during and after the fire that closed the airport on April 16, 2018.
  • December 2020: Airport was honored with the 2020 Brand Identity MarCom (Marketing & Communications) national award recipient from the Airports Council International-North America (ACI-NA) for the small airport campaign that was led by the Airport’s Marketing & Communications Team.

Prior to joining the Airport, Aidan has served in a variety of Marketing, Sales, and Client Relations roles throughout the Colorado Springs area. Aidan took a lead role in the YOT Club Charity Event from 2005-2019, and additionally served on the Ride for the Brand Ranch Rodeo Committee in 2017. Currently, she sits on the VistiCOS Marketing Committee. Aidan is a Colorado native, earning her Bachelor's Degree from University of Colorado, Colorado Springs in 2007. Outside of work, she enjoys adventure travel and on the weekends you will usually find her mountain biking, trail running, skiing, or just enjoying the Colorado mountain air.
