We are grateful for the collaboration between El Paso County Public Health, the City of Colorado Springs and our local homeless service providers from the beginning of the COVID-19 emergency. With increased shelter beds, a new work program, Landlord Incentive Plan and more, City meets goals set by 2019 Homeless Initiative
In a re-launch of its community-wide giving case, the City of Colorado Springs has joined forces with the Springs Rescue Mission in a Work Engagement program. The HelpCOS My City Project will be supported by donations to the HelpCOS fund.
With your donation to the HelpCOS initiative, you are supporting the Springs Rescue Mission's Work Engagement programs, including the newly launched HelpCOS My City program. The program sends volunteers experiencing homelessness to help conduct cleanups through the Mill St. neighborhood. In return for their efforts in these cleanups and other work experience, they receive incentives from the Mission, including job coaches, training, shelter stability, lunches and professional references to put them on the path to full employment.
